Pier One – Waterfront Dining and Nightlife in Montego Bay

There are restaurants, and then there are experiences. Pier One falls firmly in the second category. Located on Howard Cooke Boulevard right on the Montego Bay waterfront, this open-air seafood institution has been a staple of the city’s dining and nightlife scene since 1986.

The setting alone is worth the visit. Perched on a peninsula overlooking the harbour, you get sweeping views of the bay, spectacular sunsets, and the feeling that you’re dining on a ship. The sea breeze and the sound of water create an atmosphere that’s hard to replicate anywhere else in Montego Bay.

The menu is as wide as the view. Seafood takes centre stage — think Pier One Lobster, coconut shrimp, grilled Mahi-Mahi, and land crab done with a Jamaican flair. But there’s also beef tenderloin, jerk chicken, jerk sausage pasta, oxtail, curry goat, and enough salads and vegetarian options to keep every diner happy. If you can think of a craving, Pier One likely has it covered.

Beyond the food, Pier One is known for its weekly events. Star Struck Wednesdays bring fashion shows and dancing until 2am. Pier Pressure Fridays are widely considered the best Friday night out in all of Jamaica, with a blend of local and international music that keeps the energy high until 4am. Seafood Sundays and Karaoke Mondays round out the week.

Reservations are strongly recommended — this place fills up quickly, and for good reason.
